The Arts Center of North Arkansas will host a workshop open to the public at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 12 at the Arts Center in Town Center. The class costs $15.00 per person and all supplies are furnished.
Sheila Donley will present a silk scarf-painting workshop. The method she will teach is a fun, easy way using ink that is creatively diffused with alcohol on the scarves. Donley learned this method at a Creative Painting Convention in Las Vegas. No painting skills are necessary. This will be the second silk scarf painting class held at the Arts Center following a well-attended class in December. Donley has been involved in art for more than 25 years and has experience with many mediums including oil paints, watercolor, and colored pencils, and also enjoys using stencils to decorate clothing and bags.
Donley has taught stenciling for the last five years in Indiana and hopes to teach a stenciling class at the Arts Center in the near future. Donley and her husband recently retired to Cherokee village from Indiana. They both grew up in Arkansas and are happy to return to the beautiful rolling hills and fish-filled rivers. Donley serves on the Art Center’s Board of Directors.
